Regional Workshop on Skill Development for Rural Youth Concludes

Lucknow: A two-day regional workshop organized under the aegis of the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission concluded today in Agra. The workshop focused on discussing the challenges and strategic interventions in implementing the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana 2.0 (DDU-GKY 2.0) and the Rural Self Employment Training Institutes 2.0 (RSETI 2.0). The final day featured presentations of annual action plans from various states.

During the first session on the second day, the Ministry of Rural Development provided a detailed chapter-wise presentation on the Standard Operating Procedures (SoP) for DDU-GKY 2.0 and RSETI 2.0. This was followed by the second session where representatives from Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh presented their respective states’ annual action plans for DDU-GKY 2.0 and RSETI 2.0.

The primary objective of the workshop was to connect rural youth with modern, employment-oriented skills and to formulate effective strategies to make them self-reliant. Representatives from eight states, including Uttar Pradesh, shared their experiences and engaged in discussions to enhance the effectiveness of the skill development mission.

The workshop, organized by the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission, witnessed the participation of key officials, including Pankaj Yadav, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India; Abhishek Singh, Mission Director; MD/CEO of SRLM/SSDM; RSETI officials; and other related experts.
